Last time I did that it was ok the next morning. Sometimes ( depending when it happens ) I just leave it off overnight and hope for the best. I have to do a hard power down and re-boot several times ( but every so often it only takes once ). The mouse ( usually ) will move around the screen but clicking on icons does NOTHING. You can't even shut it down except by a hard power down. Just suddenly, for no apparent reason and with NO error message, the computer locks up and you can do NOTHING.

I have never ( so far ) restored a backup to the SSD. some programs like Office I put on the SSD because it benefits greatly ). I set it up so programs and data go on a standard platter drive ( for the most part.
#Diskkeeper on ssd install#
Originally I did a clean install of Windows 7. Time will tell.īut, unfortunately, I'm not the only one still experiencing freeze issues after the 1.3.3 firmware. I have disabled Diskkeeper on the SSD drive entirely. it's just a crapshoot every time you click an icon you never know if it will freeze or work. You never know how long it will be between freezes. From what I've seen in the forum no one has any better cables than that so far. This motherboard doesn't even have any IDE ports on it.Īs for cables I'm using the cables that came with the motherboard that have the white ends which are supposed to be SATA3 cables. Yes I know SSD is using a SATA connection - perhaps they need to make a new port type for SSD's cause SATA doesn't seem to work that well. this motherboard is an ASUS P9X79 Deluxe with 16 gigs of RAM. Wonder where it got those specs, hmmm yeah that's my old computer. I have the latest BIOS and my motherboard is a recent model - whoops I see the problem there - my specs don't indicate my latest build. I don't mind having some problems in being on the advance edge of technology - but there is a limit and these drives not only cross the limit they stomp all over it. yet apparently Corsair is doing NOTHING to solve the freezing problems that still exist. I see person after person posting here that they still are having problems with these drives after the firmware upgrade to 1.3.3. I'm on the verge of installing Windows on a regular SATA drive again even though it is slower than my Grandma and she's been dead for 60 years. I wouldn't want anyone to go through this crap so I wouldn't let anyone else have this POS. I just turned Hyperfast and Diskkeeper off for the SSD drive as a last resort before pulling the SSD out and putting a bullet in it. Diskkeeper is a reliable company that has vast experience in defragmenting drives so I have trusted them. I have had Diskkeeper with HyperFast which is supposed to handle SSD drives.

You never know if it will work or for how long before it freezes in the middle of something. I have to consider the SSD drive completely unreliable.
